Major Paul Joseph Buckwalter has been the Commander, Headquarters and Headquaters Company, 358th Civil Affairs Brigade since July 2004. He began his military career in ROTC ans has over 16 years of Commissioned Service.

Major Buckwalter served in Operation Enduring Freedom. His awards include the Bronze Star, Joint Service Commendation Medatl, Presidential Unit Citation, Armed Forces Service Medal, NATO Medal, and Basic Parachutist Badge (among others).

Major William C. Kirsch is a member of the Army Reserve currently serving as the Acting Public Facilities Team Chief for the 304th Civil Affairs Brigade. This Brigade and it's subordinate units were the first Reserve Civil Affairs units to deploy to the combat theater in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Major Kirsch also served in the Combined Joint Civil Military Operations Center under NATO in Sarajevo, Bosnia Herzegovina bringing clean water to thousands of Bosnians. His awards include Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, NATO Medal, United Nations Medal, and State of New Jersey Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster (among others).

Parade Route:

  • Formation will be in the front schoolyard of the Brown Elementary School at 3600 Stanwood Street (corner or Stanwood Street and Frankford Avenue). Note: Marchers can park in the rear schoolyard accessible from Craig Street, which is one-way south bound off of Stanwood Street.
  • The Parade will begin by marching south on Frankford Avenue beginning at Welsh Road.
  • It will continue down Frankford Avenue to Knorr Street.

The Reviewing Stand will be at across the street from the Mayfair Community Development Corporate Office (6810 Frankford Avenue).

      Following the Parade at the Bavarian Volksfest Verein on the grounds of the United German-Hungarian Club.

      The Oktoberfest continues at the Bavarian Volksfest Verein.

Directions to the Church / Parade:

  • By Car:

    From the North:

    • Get onto I-95 South
    • Exit at the Cottman Avenue exit
    • Stay straight to go onto Wissinoming Street
    • Turn slight right onto Cottman Avenue
      • Church: Proceed to Battersby Street - Church is on the left side on Cottman Avenue
      • Parade: Proceed to Frankford Avenue. Turn right and proceed to Welsh Road for beginning of parade. Turn left and proceed to Knorr Street for reviewing stand at the end of parade.

    From the South:

    • Get onto I-95 North
    • Take the Cottman Avrnue exit toward PA-73
    • Turn slight left onto Cottman Avenue
      • Church: Proceed to Battersby Street - Church is on the left side on Cottman Avenue

      • Parade: Proceed to Frankford Avenue. Turn right and proceed to Welsh Road for beginning of parade. Turn left and proceed to Knorr Street for reviewing stand at the end of parade.

    From the East:

    • Get onto I-676 West
    • Cross the Delaware River using the Benjamin Franklin Bridge.
    • Follow signs for I-676 West
  • Merge onto I-95 N toward Trenton
  • Take the Cottman Avenue exit toward PA-73
  • Turn slight left onto Cottman Avenue
  • From the West:

    NOTE: There is ample free parking on side streets along the parade route.

  • By Public Transportation:

    The Parade route along Frankford Avenue is serviced by SEPTA Route 66 bus and many other routes. An easy transfer to the Route 70 bus at Frankford Ave and Cottman Avenue will take you to Saint Mathew's Catholic Church. For further information, go to: www.septa.org.
