Welcome

Today is: -

Welcome to the online presence of the Steuben Day Observance Association of Philadelphia and Vicinity and the Philadelphia German-American Steuben Parade.  It is only right an proper that the man General Washington called "indispensable" to the American Revolutionary War effort be remembered each year with a parade by his fellow German - Americans, as well as many guests from Germany.

Al Taubenberger, President & General Chairman

Philadelphia, the birthplace of the Revolution and home to thousands of German - Americans, is a most honored setting for our great parade. If you need any information please contact our Association at info@steubenparade.com.

The Association hopes to see you at its 39th Annual German-American Steuben Parade of Philadelphia scheduled for September 26, 2009.

This year's German Day celebration is scheduled for June 28, 2009 on the grounds of the United German Hungarian Club. Further information will be available shortly on our German Day website. The Miss German-America of Philadelphia Competition is now underway.

Thanks to our Bands Chairlady, Carol Ebinger, our Association was represented at the 100th anniversary celebration of the founding of the Blasorchester TVJahn Bockum. The Association has a special relationship with this group as it has participated in numerous parades and comes from Krefeld, Germany, where the founding families of Germantown, now a section of Philadelphia, originated. Take a look at the Scrapbook link at left for additional information.

The Association would like to congratulate the winners of the 2008 Raffle and thank the sponsors for their gifts. For further information, click on the Congratulations link at left.
