Dear Fellow German-Americans:

On Spetember 27, 2008, we will celebrate our 38th anniversary by marching on Frankford Avenue in the Mayfair section of Northeast Philadelphia.

Through the continuing active support of the Mayfair Community Development Corporation we enjoy increasing success at this location. The Mayfair community will host "Strassen Fest" at the intersection of Cottman and Frankford Avenues providing an Oktoberfest-like atmosphere.

St. Matthew's Catholic Church will again graciously host our ecumenical service before the Parade. We encourage you come to the parade and enjoy a day celebrating German-American Heritage. It is a thrill to march in front of spectator-lined streets.

Again, I must ask you for your financial support of the Steuben Parade. Your generous donation is crucial to organizing and presenting this German-American Parade to the Philadelphia area. In addition, the Parade Association is no longer the recipient of donated airline tickets, so we must raise funds to send our Cornflower Queens to Germany to represent us.

Win a "Culinary trip to Germany" right here in the Philadelphia area
with a basket of gift certificates to area German restaurants.

With your tax-deductible contribution of $10.00 or more, we will include your name in a drawing to win this prize and list you as a contributor in our 2009 program book. Simply complete the enclosed coupon and return it with your check made payable to Steuben Day Observance Association.

Congratulations to the winners of last year's raffle - Robert and Mary Ann Eppinger. On behalf of the Steuben Day Observance Association, I offer you sincere thanks for preserving and promoting our German heritage. Your donations are vital to the effort, just as General von Steuben was to Washington!

Thank you,

Al Taubenberger
General Chairman

(Please note that online contributions of $10.00 or more entered prior to September 27, 2008, will also be entered into the drawing and listed in the 2009 Parade Journal. Your transactions are secure using PayPal.)
